I ♥ Ralphbucks
Although we now live in Ontario, we still received the coveted Alberta Prosperity Rebate or the Ralphbucks Check. That was $2000 for a family of 5 and it was a very welcome going-away gift from the province of Alberta. Thanks for 14 years!
Alas, it has mostly been spent, on a van and a stinky poodle's foray into private healthcare (BTW I wonder what they charged to treat the gerbil?)
On the plus side, we also brought with us a Conservative government to share with the rest of the country.

Glad we could help you folks from the middle east again. King Ralph is a generous sort. Why, a cheque was sent to someone who had never lived or worked in Alberta. However, that is the federal government's fault, because the feds printed the cheques from the federal database, and sent them.
You put your dog in PRIVATE health care? Paul Martin would be shocked to hear that someone was doing what he does. After all, it's a Canadian value for the liberals to gain as much privilege as they can over the rest of the Canadian commoners.
So Ralph is buying the votes of Albertans. Big deal, politicians do that all the time. Except this time it is with cash and not programs, so the voters actually get money instead of the buddies of the governing party. Way to go Ralph!
He is not buying votes. He is merely showing his gratitude for voting the Conservative government into power in previous years. We trusted him to do what was right with our votes; he is now trusting us to do what is right with the money. This is not buying votes. There really is a difference, but I have no idea what it is.
Email me, if you would; your email addy doesn't work.
